Pages not planned for migration

This round of updates I have reviewed the legacy 'landing page' to see how close we are to 'feature parity' and to see how much work is still to do.
I discovered a few pages that I do not plan to migrate - I think it's important to put context why this is, these are listed here. I have also listed everything else from the landing page with some context of where it's up to - just for transparency of the work involved
Any issues or qualms with this let me know - I'm happy to transfer anything and everything, but we must be realistic of the relevancy.
Additionally if you had a page you're keen to 'fast track' migrate - make it known to me and I'll do my best to make it happen.
Database - 'your details'
- This page seems to be a database that exist for sending out correspondence or connecting fusiliers to one another.
- This was a service offered by the legacy website, not a service I can take forward with the new site.
- Additionally, we have these online forums where fusiliers can connect if they wish, researcher Geoff / others could potentially assist with lost connections, and also rise of social media means connections probably made outside the website, and the website not the best resource for this sort of service.
- Decision is to not migrate the database to the new site for now.
- This also reduces some technical overhead too, as maintaining a live database of users is no joke.
Finance
- Finance pages on the legacy site attempt to show transparency of where donations went.
- Also used for Chaplaincy fund - which was not well advertised.
- This legacy fund is now closed, and Chaplaincy managed separately by Dave Platt.
- The new LF website is being restored 'pro-bono' right now, no need to itemise donations / funds, although donations are possible (and welcome) as there are still costs involved
- Legacy finances are no longer appropriate / relevant anyway, some are years old and the main bulk of that legacy fund was donated to relevant charity
- Decision is not to migrate legacy finance pages to the new site
Who's who
- Fun idea page showing faces of Fusiliers 'then and now' when mouseover
- Page doesn't link anywhere (not to Fusiliers feature / obituary / elsewhere) with one exception - Eddie Burrows, who's images and features will appear on the 1st Bn page (Worcester 1963) eventually
- Will likely not consider migrating as we create full story / feature pages (some already done) of the LF's mentioned on this page, where all images (including 'then and now') can be presented there instead.
Newsletter
- Fusiliers Association newsletters between 2018 and 2022 - I also found a few not posted on the website which date back to 2014.
- Archived newsletters now handled by Fusiliers Connect (stated on their website) - we could host these if people thing they're relevant?
- There would be a maintenance overhead to obtain and post newsletters when people can just sign up to receive them direct to their inboxes
- Decision not to migrate
Forthcoming Events
- Not updated since 2022
- Events on the page are no longer relevant / in the past, and don't contain any images.
- Events could be posted using the forum for a more 'living' and interactive post of things going on?
- Decision not to migrate

- Virtual Church - migrated (merged with Chaplaincy page)
- Features - The page is migrated but not all features migrated yet - this is the 'bulk' of work involved with migration of the website.
- Posting Galleries - Posting page migrated, but Battalions and details within in progress - again huge amount of work to migrate all the Bn data.
- Contact - Migrated (This is the /About page)
- Re-enactment groups - Simple gallery, planned to be included in Sept 25th update
- LF's of interest - Migrated, but not all articles yet migrated within. Planned migration ongoing.
- Wellington Memorial Gardens - Migrated late Aug / Early Sept 26
- 1968 ORBAT - This was included in Sept 18th update

- Latest Event Photos - lots of good stuff here, gallery style, planned migration
- News From the Tower - This seems like a one off feature, plan to migrate under 'features' page
- Open Your Locker - Planned to be migrated, another feature
- Links - Good idea to include links to other Fusilier resources / groups / friend websites and military etc. Some links now do not work or need updating, planned review and migrate
- LF Victoria Cross Holders - planned migration, good article to feature
- LF Battle Honours - Planned Migration, another good feature
- LF Honours and Awards - planned migration
- Stories of interest - plan to migrate all these stories, however some link to external sites that no longer exist - under review.
- Fylde Arboretum - Planned migration
- Band and Drums - Plan to migrate
- Families Club - Plan to migrate each of these as 'features' or 'stories' in line with the design of the new site
- Old LF videos / films - Archive mainly linked to Youtube - planned to migrate, we can present these in a gallery style
- LF Town Freedoms - Planned migration
- Ken Marsh Medal Stories - Planned migration as a feature in line with other features. This one in particular links to others from Ken, include some already transferred on the 1st Bn page - the rest is planned to be migrated.
